Dental Assistant

Desert Smiles Dentistry is looking for a Dental Assistant to join our team.

  • Full-time; Monday-Thursday 8:00-5:00; Long weekends!

Experience
  • 2+ years of experience as a dental assistant highly preferred; ability to train newly graduated dental assistants
  • Experience with Dentrix, Dexis, or other dental software
  • Dental assisting school certification in AZ
  • Radiology certification in AZ required
  • Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment
  • Must be patient-focused with empathy and understanding
  • Strong attention to detail, professionalism, organization, and team-player mindset
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Compliance with HIPAA training and data safeguards is required due to access to PHI

More about the role
  • Greet and welcome patients, ensuring their comfort and providing education throughout treatment
  • Review patient health history for quality care
  • Take and process x-rays and other diagnostics (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.)
  • Provide chairside assistance during procedures in accordance with state dental practice act
  • Use Dentrix for scheduling and record-keeping
  • Prepare treatment rooms following safety protocols and OSHA & CDC guidelines
  • Manage supplies and inventory, placing orders as needed
  • Collaborate with team to implement systems and optimize workflow

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform duties with or without accommodations
