Dental Assistant
Desert Smiles Dentistry is looking for a Dental Assistant to join our team.

Experience
- 2+ years of experience as a dental assistant highly preferred; ability to train newly graduated dental assistants
- Experience with Dentrix, Dexis, or other dental software
- Dental assisting school certification in AZ
- Radiology certification in AZ required
- Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
- Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment
- Must be patient-focused with empathy and understanding
- Strong attention to detail, professionalism, organization, and team-player mindset
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Compliance with HIPAA training and data safeguards is required due to access to PHI

More about the role
- Greet and welcome patients, ensuring their comfort and providing education throughout treatment
- Review patient health history for quality care
- Take and process x-rays and other diagnostics (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.)
- Provide chairside assistance during procedures in accordance with state dental practice act
- Use Dentrix for scheduling and record-keeping
- Prepare treatment rooms following safety protocols and OSHA & CDC guidelines
- Manage supplies and inventory, placing orders as needed
- Collaborate with team to implement systems and optimize workflow
