Job summary

Centurion Health is seeking a full-time Dental Assistant for the Crossroads Correctional Center in Cameron, Missouri. You will assist the Dentist and Dental Hygienist, prepare and sterilize instruments, maintain the operatory, and operate radiographic equipment in a correctional setting.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a dental assisting program or six months of experience, and prefer MO license or ability to obtain it.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its recognized equivalent required.
• Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six months of experience preferred.
• Missouri DA license or ability to obtain license preferred.
• Expanded duty dental assistant certification preferred; if not held, must obtain in first year.
• Certification/experience performing dental x-rays preferred.
• TB screening documentation and active CPR/BLS certification required.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance including drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting.
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and maintain the dental operatory.
• Operate radiographic equipment as needed and complete admin tasks.
• Support additional administrative duties as assigned.
