Job summary

Centurion Health is seeking a Dental Assistant for Centralia Correctional Center in Centralia, Illinois. The role works under the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry within a correctional setting, with a day shift schedule Tuesday through Friday, 7 a.m.

to 5 p.m. Responsibilities include preparing and sterilizing instruments, maintaining the operatory, operating radiographic equipment, and handling administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a dental assisting program or at least 6 months of Dental Assistant experience.
• Dental Assistant license or ability to obtain one.
• CPR certification and TB screening documentation required.
• Ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments.

Centurion is proud to be the provider of comprehensive services to the Illinois Department of Corrections. We are currently seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team at Centralia Correctional Center in Centralia, Illinois.

The Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting. Essential duties include the following:

• Preparing and sterilizing dental instruments
• Preparing and maintaining the dental operatory
• Operating radiographic equipment
• Administrative tasks as needed

Schedule: Tuesday - Friday, 7 a.m. 5 p.m.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six (6) months of experience as a Dental Assistant required
• Dental Assistant license or ability to obtain one required
• Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant preferred; if the candidate does not possess a current certificate, one must be obtained in the first year of employment
• Certification and/or previous experience performing dental x-rays preferred
• Must show/obtain current Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) documentation for tuberculosis screening
• Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
