Job summary

Centurion Health is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team at Centralia Correctional Center in Centralia, Illinois. The role supports the Dentist and Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry within a correctional setting.

Responsibilities include instrument sterilization, operatory maintenance, radiographic imaging, and related administrative tasks. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and dental assisting training or relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of a dental assisting program or at least 6 months of experience.
• Dental assistant license or ability to obtain one required; expanded duty certification preferred.

We are currently seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team at Centralia Correctional Center in Centralia, Illinois.The Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting. Essential duties include the following:Preparing and sterilizing dental instrumentsPreparing and maintaining the dental operatoryOperating radiographic equipmentAdministrative tasks as neededHigh school diploma or GED equivalent requiredCompletion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six (6) months of experience as a Dental Assistant requiredDental Assistant license or ability to obtain one requiredCertification as an expanded duty dental assistant preferred; if the candidate does not possess a current certificate, one must be obtained in the first year of employmentCertification and/or previous experience performing dental x-rays preferredMust show/obtain current Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) documentation for tuberculosis screeningMust be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
