Chestnut Dental Associates in Needham, MA is seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to support pediatric, orthodontic and general dentistry services. The role involves preparing rooms, assisting during procedures, taking radiographs, and educating patients. Flexible hours include one evening per week and one Saturday per month.

Qualifications

• Certified (DANB) or formally trained dental assistant preferred.
• Open to training on-the-job assistant.
• Current X-ray certification.
• Knowledge of dental assisting procedures and infection control practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, materials and equipment for patient care.
• Review patient charts, histories and treatment plans before appointments.
• Assist dentists during procedures and maintain efficient clinical flow.
• Take and process dental radiographs and perform coronal polishing as permitted.
• Provide patient education and review post-operative instructions.
• Maintain sterilization, infection control, OSHA, and HIPAA compliance.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate scheduling needs to front office staff.
• Manage supplies, inventory and equipment maintenance.
• Participate in training, meetings, and continuing education.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
