Job summary

Northern Virginia Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Associates in Manassas, VA is seeking a part-time Dental Assistant to support clinical teams with patient care and efficient workflow.

You will prepare treatment rooms, take X-rays, manage records, and assist dentists during procedures while maintaining infection control and CPR readiness. The position requires a one-year dental assistant program (preferred) and X-ray certification; experience is valued.

Qualifications

• One-year certified dental assistant program preferred.
• 1 year on-the-job experience.
• X-Ray certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Maintain OSHA, HIPAA, CPR training annually.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed)
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
