Job summary

Pediatric Dental Care in Chantilly, VA is seeking a part-time Dental Assistant to support our clinical team in a modern practice with advanced dental technology. You will prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, take X-rays, educate patients, and help manage emergencies.

A minimum of 1 year of dental assisting experience and X-Ray certification are required; Nitrous Oxide certification is a plus. We offer competitive hourly pay and a part-time schedule (Mon, Tue, Thu).

Qualifications

• 1 year on-the-job experience.
• X-Ray certification - Required
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
