Job summary

Ross Education Holdings, Inc. Lafayette campus is seeking experienced Dental Assistants to become instructors for morning and evening classes. The role is 0-27 hours/week and focused on teaching in a classroom setting with Ross curriculum.

Qualifications

  • Must have 3+ years' experience in dental assisting and national certification (RDA from AMT or CDA from DANB).
  • Interest in teaching or prior teaching experience is required.
  • Must be flexible and enthusiastic about growth in a campus teaching role.

Responsibilities

  • Teach in the Dental Assisting classroom with 10-20 students, covering clinical and administrative skills.
  • Deliver lectures and demonstrations using Ross lesson plans and curriculum.
  • Class sessions are 4.5 hours, in day or evening blocks; this is a part-time role (9-18 hours per week).
  • All campus staff support student success and adhere to Ross core values.

We are looking for experienced DA's to become fully trained instructors to teach scheduled year round morning & evening scheduled classes and PRN. This position is 0-27 hrs/wk, more if you pick up additional PRN hours. Please let us know your availability.

Dental Assistant Instructor duties include:
  • Teach in the Dental Assisting classroom with 10-20 students, covering clinical and administrative skills.
  • Learning the material and delivering lectures and demonstrations, working from the Ross lesson plans and curriculum.
  • Class sessions are 4.5 hours in either day or evening sessions.
  • This is a part-time position, typically 9-18 hours per week.

DA QualificationsRequirements
  • 3+ years' experience in the field and a national certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA from AMT) or Certified Dental Assistant (CDA from DANB) and formal training in a dental assisting program like Ross. If you do not have the formal education, you can also qualify with 5+ years' experience in the field and a national certification. *additional requirements or exceptions may be applicable based on the state, program, and accreditation requirements
  • Interest in teaching or prior experience
  • Must be flexible and have a passion to learn and grow

  • Sufficient ability to stand for extended periods of time, move around the building and classroom to satisfy student needs and/or facilitate student participation.   • Ability to use current technology to maintain student records
  • Ability to communicate effectively in classroom and individual settings
  • Knowledge of materials (subjects) that will be taught to students and ability to use and communicate Ross curriculum
  • Ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to achieve or maintain credential and/or licensure within expected time frames
  • Demonstrates professionalism in manner, dress and conduct as a representative of Ross and a student mentor
  • Ability to remain objective and treat all students equally
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Adhere to Ross Code of Conduct and Professional Ethics
  • Clinical Coordinators need to have ability to travel to visit clinical sites or other meetings
  • Prior teaching or formal tutoring experience using a developed curriculum, preferred
  • Perform related work as required
