Main Street Children's Dentistry and Orthodontics in Glen Burnie, MD is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our clinical team. You will prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, take X-rays, and assist dentists during procedures in a fast-paced, team-based setting.

Qualified candidates have a one-year dental assisting program, at least 1 year of experience, X-ray certification, and strong commitment to infection control and patient care.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
• 1 year on-the-job experience in a dental office.
• X-ray certification required.
• Nitrous oxide certification highly recommended.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake.
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply.

As a Dental Assistant you are an integral part of care team in providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
