Job summary

All Care Health Center in Council Bluffs, IA is seeking a Dental Assistant to support providers, prepare operatories, take dental radiographs, and assist with patient discharge. The typical schedule is Monday–Friday: 7:30am–5:00pm, with one late night until 7:00pm, and a rotating Saturday schedule 7:30am–12:00pm.

Pay is based on education and experience: non-certified DA $18–$20/hr; certified DA $21–$25/hr.

Qualifications

• Active Dental Assisting Certificate in the state of Iowa.
• Iowa Radiology Certification, or ability to acquire within 6 months of hire.
• Sterilization Certification a plus.
• Previous training and experience in dental assisting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, cleans, and sets up operatories for patient appointments
• Takes and mounts dental radiographs (x-rays)
• Prepares sterile instruments and equipment
• Prepares patients for their appointment and discharge
• Asks about patient's medical history
• Takes blood pressure and pulse
• Performs dental assistant duties per provider workflow and practice
• Provides patient discharge instructions and follows up on post-treatment care
• Registers patients for appointment, if necessary
• Assists with documentation for accurate billing and charting

• Prepares patients for their appointment and discharge as well
  • Asks about patient's medical history
  • Takes blood pressure and pulse
• Performs dental assistant duties per provider workflow and practice
• Provides and assists with patient discharge
  • Provides patients with instruction for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedure
  • Registers patients for appointment, if necessary
  • Assists with documentation for accurate billing and charting

Qualifications

• Active Dental Assisting Certificate in the state of Iowa
• Iowa Radiology Certification, or ability to acquire within 6 months of hire
• Sterilization Certification a plus
• Previous training and experience in dental assisting preferred.
