JOB SUMMARY:
The Dental Assistant is a key dental team member, crucial in ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction. They support clinical procedures and the practice’s day-to-day operations, providing a seamless patient experience while maintaining high care and efficiency standards.
JOB INFO:
HOURS: full-time | Tuesday-Friday
SALARY RANGE: hourly position
REPORTS TO: Director of Financial Services
- Assist dentists during examinations & treatments, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort.
- Prepare treatment rooms and tray setups for various dental procedures and follow established appointment protocols.
- Take and develop digital radiographs, impressions, and scans.
- Sending out referrals and pre-authorizations.
- Manage lab cases, including tracking and coordinating with external dental labs.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including charting, recording vital signs, and updating treatment plans.
- Educate patients on post-operative care, oral hygiene, and preventive treatments.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with patients.
- Handle infection control and sterilization protocols, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain instruments, equipment, and operatories.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, supporting efficient clinic operations.
- Assist in managing dental emergencies by responding swiftly and appropriately.
- Duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Registered Dental Certification in the state of Iowa, preferred.
- One year of clinical dental assistant experience, preferred.
- If not already certified, expected to be certified after 1-year of employment at Promise (Training is provided on-site).
- Must have the ability to work as a team member, establishing effective relationships with patients and staff.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to sit for long periods of time, is required to use routine office equipment to talk, hear, write, and read small print.

- Possible exposure to airborne and blood borne pathogens & hazardous materials.
