Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Provide exceptional customer service with excellent chair-side manner, prioritizing the patient.
- Be present, engaged, and ready to work at all assigned shift times.
- Assist the doctor and hygienists with all dental procedures, taking direction and anticipating needs.
- Take, develop, and mount accurate radiographs.
- Review patient charts, log data, and transcribe notes.
- Prepare and sterilize equipment and operatory before appointments.
- Maintain schedule and patient flow through efficient procedures.
- Educate patients and address questions or concerns.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver an extraordinary patient experience.
- Assist front office with scheduling and lab case tracking.
- Monitor and order dental supplies as assigned.
- Promote practice services and retail products.
- Complete checklists and participate in daily huddles.
- Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA.
- Follow safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Complete required training modules.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current radiography certification.
- Dental Assistant certification (state-specific or ability to obtain).
- CPR certification preferred.
- Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen Analgesia certification preferred.
- Maintain OSHA, HIPAA, and Infection Control training annually.
