Job summary

Dental Associates of Northern Virginia in Annandale, VA is seeking a part-time Dental Assistant to support our clinical team by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and assisting dentists during procedures.

Candidates must complete a one-year certified dental assistant program and hold X-Ray certification; a high school diploma is required. OSHA, HIPAA, CPR training annually is expected, with a flexible part-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience as a dental assistant required.
• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
• X-ray certification is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
• Assist in managing dental and medical emergencies by keeping CPR certification and emergency supplies.

Position Overview:As a Dental Assistant you are an integral part of care team in providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. What we offer:

• Competitive hourly pay $18Min-$22Max
• Part time: Tuesday 7:45-5pm and Wednesday 6:45-3:30 pm

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations..
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed)
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program
• X-Ray certification
• High school diploma or equivalent

Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
