Job summary

Cross, Lavinder, Quinn, & Park Family Dentistry in Virginia is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the clinical team and provide high-level patient care in a team-based setting. Prior dental assisting experience is required to join our practice.

Qualifications

• Two years of dental assisting experience
• X-Ray certification is required
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
• Assist with dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and emergency supplies.

Education

• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
