Position Summary
The Demolition Division Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, operations, growth, and financial performance of the Demolition Division. This role oversees estimating, project management, field operations, staffing, scheduling, safety, equipment, client relationships, and operational execution.
The Demolition Division Manager provides leadership and direction to Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators, and field personnel to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, profitably, and in accordance with ACM Services, Inc. standards and objectives. General Contractor and/or demolition experience is strongly preferred.
Essential Functions of the Job Include but Are Not Limited To:
Division Operations & Leadership
- Lead the daily operations and management of the Demolition Division.
- Establish and monitor division goals for safety, quality, productivity, schedule, revenue, and profitability.
- Oversee staffing, labor planning, equipment allocation, subcontractors, and project scheduling.
- Provide leadership, direction, and accountability to division personnel.
- Participate in division leadership and operational planning meetings.
- Provide regular operational updates and recommendations to Executive Leadership.
Estimating & Business Development
- Oversee demolition estimates, proposals, budgets, and bid submissions.
- Review pricing, project scope, risks, labor, equipment, and subcontractor requirements.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, walkthroughs, and client meetings.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, owners, and clients.
- Identify new project opportunities and support division growth.
Project Management Oversight
- Provide leadership and guidance to Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Superintendents.
- Monitor:
- Budget and profitability
- Labor productivity
- Change orders
- Subcontractor performance
- Billing and cash flow
- Conduct project reviews and assist with resolving operational and field issues.
- Support project turnover and closeout activities.
Financial Performance & Reporting
- Manage the financial performance of the Demolition Division.
- Monitor and report:
- Revenue
- Gross profit margins
- Labor costs
- Equipment costs
- Backlog
- Forecasting
- Review project cost reports and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Maintain division budget accountability and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
- Promote ACM Services, Inc.’s commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
- Support compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Work with the Safety Department to maintain required training, certifications, and documentation.
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Identify and address project and operational risks.
- Lead and mentor division personnel, including:
- Project Managers
- Project Administrators
- Operations Personnel
- Warehouse and Field Staff
- Support recruiting, onboarding, employee development, and retention.
- Establish clear expectations and accountability.
- Promote a culture of professionalism, teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement.
Equipment, Logistics & Resource Coordination
- Oversee demolition equipment, tools, trucking, and operational logistics.
- Coordinate with Warehouse, Fleet, and Operations regarding equipment readiness and utilization.
- Ensure proper manpower, equipment, and resources are available for projects.
- Support planning for large-scale and complex demolition projects.
Strategic Support
- Develop and implement plans to grow the Demolition Division.
- Identify operational improvements and opportunities for increased efficiency and profitability.
- Support development of key client relationships and new business opportunities.
- Provide timely and accurate information to Executive Leadership.
- Support ACM Services, Inc.’s long-term growth and strategic objectives.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in demolition, general contracting, construction, environmental remediation, or related industry.
- General Contractor and/or demolition experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, estimating, operations, or field supervision.
- Prior leadership or management experience required.
- Experience managing complex construction or demolition projects preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of demolition and construction operations, sequencing, equipment, and safety practices.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, estimating, budgeting, and project controls.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong financial and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management software.
- Procore experience preferred.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to travel to project sites, client meetings, and company locations as needed.
- Ability to work in office, field, and active construction/demolition environments.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to wear required PPE and safely access active project sites.
