Job summary
Xcel Energy Inc seeks a CIP DSM Load Management Consultant to advance the Demand Response portfolio. You will design and implement databases, hardware, software, and communications solutions supporting commercial/industrial and residential DR programs.
Role involves testing, commissioning, and maintaining C&I control systems, telemetry, and data for accurate billing and real-time metering. Travel ~50% between Minneapolis and Denver; some weekends and evenings required.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, MIS or Communications.
- 10+ years load management experience or electrical metering, remote data acquisition, analog & digital telephone, telecom/tech systems design/development.
- 10+ years experience developing/ maintaining databases/systems.
- Approximately 50% travel; mostly Minneapolis & Denver; some weekends/nights/holidays.
Responsibilities
- Supports operation and maintenance of Demand Response programs; manages databases and structures.
- Designs/delivers tele-metering and remote metering solutions; coordinates with Transmission Control for real-time data access.
- Oversees critical day communications and system status/availability; performs tests and trouble-shooting; provides field support.
