Position Overview

The Demand Planning Manager is responsible for executing Wagner Equipment Co.’s equipment ordering, demand planning, and inventory management strategies for machines and attachments. The role involves providing clear demand signals to maximize inventory turns, manage rental washout, control inventory spend, and ensure order accuracy, while minimizing aged assets. The manager will also oversee a portion of the Sales & Operations Planning process to ensure timely ordering aligned with stakeholder needs, emphasizing constant communication and process execution.

Pay Rate

$70,212.99 - $96,548.42 annually (dependent on education & experience).

Essential Functions
  • Manage ordering and demand processes for various rental segments.
  • Maintain the dealer demand velocity solution (DDVS) process, including Base Order Management (BOM) and Order Range Supply.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to define daily ordering needs and process purchase orders.
  • Generate regular reports on inventory and cash flow projections for leadership.
  • Create and manage purchase orders and inventory for aging and turnover goals.
  • Identify and strategize for aging inventory, working with used equipment managers.
  • Communicate inventory initiatives to sales teams.
  • Manage product creation, configurations, and models.
  • Coordinate with sales and rental teams to optimize fleet configurations and key metrics.
  • Handle equipment movement records, reservations, and fleet transfers.
  • Assist in location and inventory planning through dealer networks.
  • Develop plans when projected inventory spend exceeds thresholds.
  • Align with organizational vision, mission, and values.
  • Understand equipment specification processes for the served territory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Potential direct reports include Equipment Inventory Manager, Sales and Rental Analysts.
  • Lead and support equipment inventory control processes.
Minimum Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED; College Degree required.
  • At least 3 years administrative/clerical experience.
  • Over 5 years customer service experience.
  • At least 3 years sales and supervisory experience.
  • Minimum 3 years technical or mechanical experience.
Physical & Competency Requirements
  • Standing, walking, talking, sitting, manual dexterity, hearing.
  • Ability to squat/kneel and ascend/descend ladders and stairs.
  • Lift/move objects up to 32 pounds.
  • Proficiency in data entry, communication, organization, and math skills.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and products.
  • Familiarity with ProductLink, VisionLink, DBS, MDS.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills.
Work Environment
  • Moderate noise levels.
  • Indoor and outdoor settings.
Travel Requirements
  • 1-25% travel expected.
