Senior Principal Software Engineer
The Software Engineering team delivers next-generation software application enhancements and new products for a changing world. What you’ll achieve
As a Senior Software Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software based on the customer’s business goals, needs, and general business environment, creating software solutions.
We are looking for a Solutions Architect, a thought leader to define strategy and build standard architecture for Dell’s workload solution. This role will focus on working with the Dell Engineering team to standardize the solution to be delivered as a Service to Dell’s customers.
As part of the Dell Cloud Managed Services Platform, you will:

• Integrate with Dell Cloud Management Platform to enable delivery of aaS
• Define monitoring and management requirements to deliver performance and availability requirements and test solutions against them
• Document the solution installation guides, network connectivity, rack design
• Act as the last stop to simulate customer issues in the lab and interface with Dell and non-Dell product engineering
• Collaborate across all engineering disciplines to identify solutions feature requirements to support common customer use-cases running on Dell’s engineered stack
• Build the architecture to extend our platform for services solutions and maintain the servers, storage, and network to connect and integrate the systems to support the various services programs.
• Work with automation engineers to automate solution installation and patch testing

Essential Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, technical degree, or equivalent work experience with 8+ years of experience in Architecting and Implementing highly available and scalable products – with emphasis on products for highly technical users (e.g., software engineers, system engineers, site reliability engineers).
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, SSL, routing, VLAN, VRF, including a Solid Understanding of Zero Trust network integration
• Experience configuring and designing Dell switches, InfiniBand switches, and other infrastructure services like NTP, DNS, Logging, routing, AD, firewalls, Linux, VMware, and Windows
• Prior working experience with Agile software development, DevSecOps, IaC and their Automation toolchains e.g., Ansible, Python, PowerShell, Jira, Git.

• Team player, supporting and promoting team accomplishments with a proven ability to drive change through influence and collaboration across a matrix organization in a highly fluid environment.
• Experience with Palo Alto Networks
• Technical certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CCDA, CCDP, or other relevant certifications)
• Exceptional written and verbal communicator
