Principal Software Engineer
The Software Engineering team delivers next-generation application enhancements and new products for a changing world. As a Software Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software based on the customer’s business goals, needs, and general business environment creating software solutions.

As part of the Solutions Engineering team for Dell Cloud Managed Services Platform, you will:

• Design repeatable IaaS stack patterns with compute, storage, network, and back-up from physical (Rack, cable, BOM) to Logical and functional well-documented detailed architecture
• Work with Delivery teams & Product Owners to understand the operations requirements like monitoring, service request, patching, and help integrate with the automated multi-Tenant Cloud Management and Operations platform
• Work with security architects and networking architects to integrate security controls like IAM, PAM, Logging, auditing, vulnerability management, firewall, and network segmentation
• Design and configure IaaS stack in labs for the SW development and Testing as well as PoC to test architecture patterns
• Design IaC to reduce time to value from bare metal provisioning, hypervisor container platform with network based on architecture using build sheets and other operation functions
• Help document best practices in developing and deploying cloud-centric solutions including but not limited to VMware, Azure Stack, Public Clouds (AWS/Azure/GCP)

Essential Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, technical degree, or equivalent work experience with 8+ years of experience in Architecting and Implementing highly available and scalable products – with emphasis on products for highly technical users (e.g., software engineers, system engineers, site reliability engineers).
• Hands-on deployment and architecture experience using various hardware and software platforms including Data Domain, PowerEdge, VxRail, Dell and Cisco switches, PowerStore, PowerScale, and use other infrastructure services like NTP, DNS, Logging, routing, AD, firewalls, Linux, VMware, and Windows
• In-depth knowledge of network and distributed internet technologies including TCP/IP, firewalls, load balancers, and web application architecture especially NSX
• Prior automation experience and API integration is a plus
• Expert good knowledge of DevOps technologies, especially Ansible and Puppet and Chef
• Work with product managers and cross-team architects to determine hardware/software requirements and system impacts

Desirable Requirements

• Team player, supporting and promoting team accomplishments with a proven ability to drive change through influence and collaboration across a matrix organization in a highly fluid environment.
• Prior working experience with Agile software development, DevSecOps, IaC, and their Automation toolchains
• Exceptional written and verbal communicator
