Job summary

Moderna seeks a Scientist, Delivery Sciences to advance next-generation lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations. You will design, execute, and interpret experiments to optimize delivery performance, combining scientific rigor with creativity.

Qualifications

• PhD in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline with 0–3 years of relevant industry experience, or an MS degree with 5+ years of industry experience in drug delivery, formulation development, or a related field.
• Strong foundation in nanoparticle design, formulation development, and characterization, with experience in lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) or other advanced drug delivery technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and interpret complex experiments to establish SAR for next-generation LNP formulations.
• Characterize novel formulations using a broad range of biophysical, physicochemical, and analytical techniques.
• Conduct literature reviews and competitive assessments to identify emerging formulation technologies.
• Maintain rigorous ELN records ensuring data integrity and reproducibility.
• Communicate findings and contribute to strategic scientific discussions across teams.
• Collaborate with formulation, analytical development, biology, and process development teams to translate discoveries into therapies.
