Job summary

Maersk in Northlake, IL is seeking a driver’s helper to support the driver in daily routes. You will load/unload, assist with navigation, and help move freight to business or residence destinations.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs unassisted.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs unassisted.
• Must be able to read and comprehend work instructions.
• Must be able to read maps and have geographic awareness.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Must have good customer service skills.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.
• Must work well with others with little supervision.

Responsibilities

• Accurately load the daily route onto the truck.
• Scan daily route onto the truck.
• Assist driver with navigating to deliveries.
• Assist driver with carrying freight to a business or residence.
• Use manifests to pull routes, stage freight, and load/unload.
• Material handling such as picking, packing, or counting products.
• Ensure timeliness, packaging, and system accuracy.
• Identify OS&D and report accordingly.
• Safely operate warehouse equipment (forklift, pallet jacks).
• Read and follow detailed instructions in a fast-paced environment.
• Follow TSA/OSHA guidelines and maintain safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
