Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Driver Helper to assist the driver with daily delivery and operational tasks at our Kansas City area facility. Responsibilities include loading, unloading, and verifying freight, supporting route execution, and ensuring safe, efficient service.

The role requires lifting up to 75 lbs, strong communication with customers, and the ability to follow detailed instructions. Overtime and flexible schedules may be required, with comprehensive benefits and a supportive team

Qualifications

• Ability to read maps and maintain general geographic awareness.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work overtime and flexible schedules when required.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Accurately load and secure freight for daily delivery routes.
• Scan and verify all route freight before departure.
• Assist drivers with route navigation and delivery coordination.
• Help transport freight to customer business and residential locations.
• Pull, stage, load, and unload freight using manifests and established operating procedures.
• Perform material-handling duties, including picking, packing, scanning, kitting, and inventory counts.
• Identify and report overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D).
• Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, when trained and authorized.
• Follow detailed work instructions in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain compliance with TSA, OSHA, company safety requirements, and customer-site rules.
• Provide professional customer service and perform additional duties as assigned.
