Job summary

Performance Food Group is hiring a Transportation Supervisor to lead driver teams and ensure safe, efficient deliveries. You will monitor DOT logs, coach staff, and coordinate scheduling. The role blends on-site supervision with field work to support our broadline distribution network.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2–4 years in transportation or related field with knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Preferred: Associates/2-year technical in business management, logistics, or related area.
• 4–6 years transportation experience with knowledge of DOT and safety regulations.
• Supervisory experience.
• Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises associates including staffing, training, coaching, performance management and problem resolution.
• Assists in scheduling and ensuring deliveries/pickups are timely; rides with drivers for training/evaluation.
• Supports Transportation/Operations Manager in daily transportation administration; reviews driver logs/expense reports; ensures DOT/OpCo compliance.
• Monitors vehicle safety, ramps/handcarts, seat/weight belt use, safe lifting and product handling; attends quarterly safety meetings.
• Coordinates tracking of driver information (license status, tickets, incidents, safety data).
• Ensures completion of delivery and driver paperwork (invoices, cash receipts, trip reports, DOT logs, etc.).
• Maintains trucks/trailers via post-trip inspections.
• Collaborates to minimize operating expenses and optimize routing.
• Hybrid role: ~60% onsite, ~40% field.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
