Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking a Dispatcher to coordinate store and customer deliveries and lead the delivery driver team. You will assign routes, ensure on-time deliveries, and work with the lumberyard team to assemble loads accurately.

You’ll communicate schedule changes and maintain DOT-compliant logs and equipment, using our dispatch system to boost efficiency. This role is rooted in a people-first culture, with opportunities for growth and a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Previous driving and/or dispatching experience.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Strong communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Customer service skills to cultivate relationships.
• Ability to multitask while staying organized.
• This is not a desk job, so must enjoy being active.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate deliveries with other stores as well as customers.
• Give drivers their assignments and ensure deliveries are made on time.
• Work closely with the lumberyard team to ensure loads are built correctly.
• Communicate delivery schedule changes promptly.
• Ensure delivery equipment is safe and maintained according to DOT regulations and keep drivers' logs compliant.
• Utilize the delivery dispatch management system to improve efficiency.
