Job summary

Carter Lumber Company is seeking a detail‑oriented Dispatcher to coordinate store deliveries and lead our team of delivery drivers. You will assign routes, monitor on‑time performance, and collaborate with the lumberyard team to ensure loads are built correctly.

You’ll communicate changes to schedules promptly and uphold DOT compliance and safety standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong communication, time management, and multitasking skills are required; this is an active role with

Qualifications

• Previous driving and/or dispatching experience.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Strong communication skills.
• Excellent time management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Customer service orientation and relationship building.
• Ability to multitask while staying organized.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate deliveries with stores and customers.
• Assign routes to drivers and manage delivery schedules to ensure on-time delivery.
• Collaborate with the lumberyard team to ensure loads are built correctly.
• Communicate delivery schedule changes promptly.
• Ensure delivery equipment is safe and maintained according to DOT regulations; maintain drivers’ logs.
• Utilize the delivery dispatch management system to improve efficiency.
