Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking a Dispatcher to coordinate store deliveries and lead the delivery driver team. You will assign routes, monitor on-time performance, and work with the lumberyard team to ensure correct loads. Expect proactive communication of schedule changes and emphasis on safety and DOT compliance.

You will use our dispatch management system to improve efficiency, maintain records, and support growth within a busy, people-first environment.

Qualifications

• Previous driving and/or dispatching experience.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate deliveries with stores and customers.
• Assign drivers and manage loads for on-time delivery.
• Communicate changes in delivery schedules to the team.
• Collaborate with lumberyard staff to ensure loads are built correctly.
• Ensure delivery equipment is safe and DOT logs are maintained.
