Job summary

Sysco Chicago, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Supervisor in Des Plaines, IL to oversee the delivery team, ensure safety and DOT/OSHA compliance, and manage schedules and budgets within the department.

The role requires 1–3 years of related experience, a high school diploma (college degree preferred), and a valid Class A CDL. HazMat certification is preferred. Strong leadership and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred in Business/Management or related field.
• 1-3 years related experience.
• Sysco approved defensive driving program required.
• HazMat certification preferred.
• Valid Class A CDL expected or preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily delivery operations and safety for Delivery Associates.
• Ensures compliance with DOT, OSHA, and other regulations; maintains logs.
• Manages labor hours, schedules, and budget for delivery department.
• Oversees asset utilization and coordinates repairs as needed.
• Collaborates with Sales/Marketing to resolve delivery issues with customers.
• Maintains associate relations and conducts pre-shift meetings.
• Supports safety investigations and root-cause analysis.
