Job summary

Sigma Software is seeking a Senior-level Department Delivery Manager to strengthen delivery governance across a multi-project portfolio. You will collaborate with business, engineering, and project leadership to ensure predictable delivery, high customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.

You will mentor Project Managers, drive organizational delivery maturity, and shape standards across distributed teams in an international, collaborative setting.

Qualifications

8+ years of IT project, program, portfolio, or delivery management experience.
Hands-on technical experience as a Software Engineer or similar delivery role.
Strong understanding of software development processes and engineering challenges.
Experience overseeing multiple projects, accounts, or delivery streams.
Experience leading or developing Project Managers, Delivery Managers, or Team Leads.
Strong delivery governance, risk management, and QA practices.
Certifications such as PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2, SAFe, or similar.
Experience in large-scale distributed delivery organizations.

Responsibilities

Own and continuously improve delivery governance practices across the department.
Conduct regular project health reviews and identify delivery risks and issues.
Monitor portfolio performance, delivery quality, customer satisfaction, and key delivery metrics.
Provide visibility into portfolio health and escalate critical issues when needed.
Establish and drive delivery standards, best practices, and quality frameworks.
Mentor Project Managers in applying effective delivery and governance practices.
Facilitate knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across teams.
Ensure adoption of company delivery methodologies, processes, and standards.
Own delivery escalations and coordinate resolution across stakeholders.
Lead recovery planning for challenging or underperforming projects.
Identify portfolio-level risks and mitigate accordingly.
Collaborate with Account Managers, Project Managers, Engineering Leaders, Resource Managers, and HR partners.
Drive alignment between business objectives, delivery capabilities, and resource planning.
Act as trusted advisor to leadership on delivery performance, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Contribute to organizational initiatives for delivery maturity and operational effectiveness.

CUSTOMER

This position is focused on internal delivery excellence and organizational development within Sigma Software. The role supports cross-functional delivery operations, helping leadership teams maintain high-quality execution standards, improve governance processes, and strengthen portfolio transparency across multiple projects and accounts.

PROJECT

The department is focused on building a mature delivery ecosystem with strong governance practices, scalable operational processes, and sustainable portfolio management. The role involves supporting complex software development initiatives, improving delivery predictability, managing escalations, and enabling continuous improvement across distributed teams. You will work closely with Project Managers, Engineering Leaders, Resource Managers, Account Managers, and HR partners to ensure successful project execution and long-term delivery excellence.

Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on delivery performance, risks, and improvement opportunities
Contribute to organizational initiatives aimed at increasing delivery maturity and operational effectiveness

8+ years of experience in project, program, portfolio, or delivery management within the IT industry
Previous hands‑on technical experience as a Software Engineer or in another technical delivery role
Strong understanding of software development processes and engineering challenges
Proven experience overseeing multiple projects, accounts, or delivery streams simultaneously
Experience leading, mentoring, or developing Project Managers, Delivery Managers, or Team Leads
Strong understanding of delivery governance, project health management, risk management, and quality assurance practices
Proven experience managing complex delivery escalations and leading recovery initiatives for challenged projects
Experience establishing and improving delivery standards, processes, frameworks, and best practices across organizations
Strong portfolio management capabilities with the ability to identify trends, risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities across multiple projects
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills across different organizational levels
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a data‑driven approach to decision-making
Ability to drive organizational change and lead continuous improvement initiatives
Excellent communication, facilitation, coaching, and leadership skills
Experience working in cross‑functional and matrix organizations
Advanced English level
Experience working within large‑scale distributed delivery organizations
Experience with Agile delivery frameworks and transformation initiatives
Certifications such as PMP, PgMP, PMI‑ACP, PRINCE2, SAFe, or similar
Experience in delivery process optimization and operational excellence initiatives
Exposure to international Customer environments and enterprise‑scale accounts
