Prompt delivery and pick-up of rental and sales items; truck and facilities maintenance; general labor.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prompt and courteous delivery and pickup of both sales and rental equipment, ensuring that all local, state and federal laws are obeyed
- Follow the routes and instructions provided by the Logistics Coordinator to insure the most economical use of time and equipment
- Performing all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards
- Loading and unloading of trucks
- Drop off and pick up trucks to/from rental, service, and repair shops
- Truck Maintenance – Monitor vehicles during operation for any abnormal sounds, odors, vibrations, or dashboard warning indicators. Check basic fluid levels and tire pressure regularly. Report any vehicle abnormalities immediately to the logistics coordinator. Perform weekly preventative maintenance inspections per weekly vehicle inspection form. Report findings to the logistics coordinator. Keep interior of vehicle free of trash and clutter. Clean interiors and exteriors of vehicles when instructed.
- Facilities maintenance as required
- Provide excellent customer service when representing Starlite
- Ensure that all paperwork is properly processed and payment terms are satisfied prior to unloading truck
- When not driving, report to the logistics coordinator, who will decide how best to assign the driver, which may involve vehicle maintenance, assignment to the warehouse manager or other duties as assigned.
- Perform other job related duties or special projects as required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- One to three years related experience in driving a truck
- Active State driver’s license with no adverse history
- Department of Transportation (DOT) medical exam approval required; existing DOT card a plus
- Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving
- Ability to safely drive any non-CDL vehicle
- Ability to stay alert while driving for extended periods of time
- Position requires good sense of direction, time management, strong attendance and punctuality
