Job summary

Piggly Wiggly Midwest LLC in the United States is seeking a Professional Driver. Start with a Professional Driver Trainer (PDT) who will coach you on the C&S Way and DOT rules, then apply training to reliably deliver products and maintain high customer satisfaction.

All tasks must meet safety standards and DOT regulations. Pay starts at $30.74/hour, with a 6-month increase to $31.42/hour and a guaranteed 45 hours weekly ($1,383.30 gross per week).

Qualifications

• DOT Certified and a valid Class A CDL required.
• Must be at least 21 years old and able to pass a DOT physical.
• Familiarity with FMCSR and DOT regulations is expected.
• Customer-service focused with safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate a commercial motor vehicle to transport and safely deliver product.
• Load/unload (ambient or temp sensitive) goods to customers, 3–10 stops daily.
• Inspect, document and ensure equipment compliance with regulations.
• Inspect equipment according to regulatory requirements.
• All other duties as assigned; travel required.

Position Overview

C&S Wholesale Grocers desires to create the most safe, efficient, and service forward fleet in the country. As a Professional Driver with C&S Wholesale Grocers, you will start your driving career with the company by working with a Professional Driver Trainer (PDT) who will provide coaching and insight on the C&S Way which includes company and regulatory requirements. Once you have successfully completed our new hire training program, you will maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through deliveries of product and services while performing all other assigned duties. All functions must be completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Job Description

Pay Rate: $30.74/hour

6-Month Increase: Automatically moves up to $31.42 / hour

Weekly Guarantee: 45 hours guaranteed ($1,383.30 gross minimum per week)

Safe Driving Bonus: Up to $1,400 / year, evaluated on camera scores and paid out quarterly.

Dispatch times depend on route

Unloading: Strictly driving and backing into docks, unloading utilizing electric pallet jacks, forklift or touch freight

Equipment: Dual-Temp trailers.

Medical Benefits: Day 1 eligibility.

Description

• Utilizing the specialized skills developed with experience and the C&S Professional Driver Training Program, you will operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle (semi-truck/eighteen-wheeler/box truck, etc…), applying knowledge of training and commercial driving regulations, to transport and safely deliver product
• Driver will load and unload (ambient or temperature sensitive) product to customers on an average of 3-10 stops per day
• Driver will inspect, document and ensure equipment is operable in compliance with all regulatory and company requirements

Years Of Experience

• 1-2 : Recent tractor-trailer experience.
• 1-2 : Supporting a large Enterprise Storage environment.
