Job summary

Local Government Federal Credit Union in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Collections Specialist II to proactively manage delinquent accounts by contacting members. You will identify risks, work with members to resolve payment issues, and implement strategies to mitigate losses.

You will handle calls, emails, and texts, develop repayment plans, and ensure compliance with regulations while maintaining strong member relations and accurate documentation in the collections system.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of consumer loan collections experience required.
• Understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
• Ability to analyze personal tax returns, financial statements, and credit reports.
• Knowledge of credit procedures/regulations and bankruptcy/lightweight consumer law.
• Strong interpersonal skills and team collaboration.
• Must be able to work onsite 2-3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Contact members with delinquent loans via phone, email, and text.
• Provide primary support for delinquency and loss management communications.
• Develop repayment plans or loan modifications with members.
• Document all interactions and actions accurately in the system.
