Job summary

Schnucks is seeking a Deli Clerk to join the deli team in our local store. You will help prepare fresh sandwiches and salads, take orders, and assist customers with a friendly smile. The role emphasizes accuracy, sanitation, and teamwork in a fast-paced deli setting.

The position requires flexibility for nights, holidays and weekends, with a typical schedule of 20–25 hours per week. Training is provided, and safety protocols are followed to ensure quality products and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, holidays and weekends.
• Experience in food handling or deli operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers in person and on the phone.
• Maintain a clean work area, deli cases, and backroom following food safety guidelines.
• Slice and weigh lunch meats and cheeses, offer slice thickness choices to customers.
• Follow proper time and temperature controls and sanitation principles.
• Operate meat and cheese slicers, scales and wrapping equipment as required.
• Assist in preparing sandwiches, salads and party trays while adhering to recipes.
• Maintain attendance and work with the team to support store operations.
