Job summary

Schnucks is seeking a Deli Clerk to join our team in the deli department. The role requires availability 8am-8:30pm and weekends, with approximately 25-30 hours per week, delivering friendly service and high-quality products to customers.

Responsibilities include slicing meats and cheeses to order, maintaining cleanliness, following safety guidelines, and assisting customers with product knowledge while contributing to a positive, teamwork-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Able to demonstrate basic math skills (i.e., translate pounds/ounces to decimals)
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, holidays, and weekends
• Food preparation experience is a plus
• Works well with others — is a team player

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers, in person and on the phone
• Maintain cleanliness of work area, deli cases, and backroom following food safety guidelines
• Slice and weigh lunch meats and cheeses; confirm thickness with customers
• Establish product knowledge and suggestive selling to assist customer questions
• Fill/rotate/date products for the display case and operate slicers/wrappers as required
