Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Indianapolis seeks a Deli Team Leader to plan, direct and supervise daily deli operations, ensuring fast, friendly service and adherence to store standards. You will assist with staffing and rotate through departments to understand product flow.

You will mentor team members, manage the deli's P&L and shrink, and uphold safety and training requirements while delivering strong customer experiences in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial information.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in daily deli operations.
• Mentor and coach team members, promote development and promotions.
• Staffing, selection and training to meet staffing needs.
• Ensure customer service is courteous, fast and efficient.
• Maintain store appearance and product presentation to Meijer standards.
• Promote safety and responsible attendance.
• Manage P&L, shrink and sales targets for the department.
