Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Deli Manager in Long Beach, CA. You will assist the Deli Manager in leading one of the store's busiest teams, ensuring excellent customer service and high-quality deli products.

You will help with staffing, training, scheduling, inventory, and maintaining health and safety standards, while supporting a fast-paced, friendly environment. Competitive pay and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age with preferred 2 years supervisory experience in deli/food service.
• Reliable, able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to take and give direction in a team.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor with customers and ability to handle special orders.
• Proven leadership to build and maintain staff; understand personnel reports and sales goals.
• Detail-oriented with analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Food safety certification; comply with all regulations and sanitation standards.
• Strong organization and planning; ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Able to lift up to 70 lbs; stand for up to 8 hours; operate slicer and deli equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Deli Manager in managing and merchandising the department for productivity and profit.
• Responsible for ordering, inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Deli team.
• Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, and teamwork.
• Help lead a team to deliver high quality products and exceptional customer service.
• Assist in hiring, training, and developing the Deli staff.
• Unload deliveries and maintain deli equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
