Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Deli Manager to lead one of our busiest departments and help customers make healthy food choices. You will supervise the Deli team, assist in stocking, scheduling, and maintaining high standards of food safety and freshness, while delivering outstanding service in a fast-paced store environment.

Responsibilities include guiding production, merchandising, and daily operations; participating in hiring and training; and ensuring compliance with health

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age with a preferred 2 years supervisory experience and strong knowledge of deli or related food service
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to take and give direction
• Outgoing and friendly demeanor with a positive attitude interacting with customers
• Proven leadership ability to build, motivate and maintain staff while understanding reports and goals
• Strong focus on detail, analytical and problem solving skills
• Food Safety certification and compliance with regulations for product freshness, safety and sanitation
• Strong organization and planning skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. and stand for long periods
• Ability to operate deli equipment and assist in maintaining equipment safety

Responsibilities

• Assist the Deli Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Deli team
• Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork
• Assist in leading a team to deliver the finest quality of product and service
• Assist in hiring, teaching, training, developing the Deli team
• Unload and sort deliveries, operate and maintain deli equipment
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to store success
