Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market in the United States is seeking an Assistant Deli Manager to lead one of the store's busiest teams, ensuring excellent customer service and healthy food choices in a fast-paced environment.

You will assist the Deli Manager with daily operations, manage inventory and ordering, hire and train deli staff, enforce food safety standards, and coordinate production and merchandising to maximize productivity and profits.

Qualifications

• 18+ with at least 2 years supervisory experience in deli or food service
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to take/give direction in a team
• Outgoing, friendly, positive attitude with customer interaction
• Proven leadership to build and maintain staff with knowledge of reports and goals
• Detail-oriented with analytical and problem-solving skills
• Food Safety certification; ensure compliance with health, safety and sanitation standards
• Strong organization and planning; ability to multitask
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. and stand for extended periods
• Experience operating deli equipment such as slicers and wrapping/cooking gear

Responsibilities

• Assist the Deli Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Deli team
• Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork
• Assist in leading a team to deliver high-quality products and excellent customer service
• Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Deli team
• Unload and sort store deliveries; operate and maintain deli equipment
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to team success
