Job summary

Homeland Stores is seeking a Deli Clerk to provide friendly, efficient service in a busy deli department. You will greet customers, assist with product selection, and help prepare meats, cheeses, and prepared foods for display.

You will operate the register, wrap and package items, and maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli area, while following health and safety guidelines to ensure quality and safety for customers.

Qualifications

• Basic mathematical ability for pricing and change.
• Ability to read and follow store policies/instructions.
• Able to operate cash register, scanner and scale.
• Able to stand and move for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and respond to questions in a courteous manner.
• Wrap, package and sell deli items (sandwiches, pizza, salads, fruits, cheese, desserts).
• Process purchases quickly using cash register, scanner, and scale.
• Maintain deli area: cleaning, stocking, organizing merchandise and displays.
• Follow health codes and sanitation procedures; sanitize area and equipment.
• Assist with unloading deliveries and stocking cases; rotate product.
