Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market seeks a Deli Clerk to help customers by preparing fresh, easy meals and maintaining a clean, appealing deli area. You will handle product displays, special orders, and deli machinery while delivering friendly, efficient service in a fast-paced store environment.

The role requires 18+ years old with a HS diploma, reliability, teamwork, and flexibility for varied shifts. Daily tasks include sanitation, packaging, and assisting with customer requests in a grocery setting.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Have outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Good communication skills and the ability to take direction and work in a team.
• Able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Must lift/carry up to 70 lbs. and stand for up to 8 hours per shift.
• Perform general housekeeping and operate deli equipment safely.
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; maintain a Food Handlers permit.
• Able to work in coolers and freezers; other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in choosing healthy options by preparing fresh and easy meals.
• Provide high level of customer service and ensure deli items are prepared, packaged, and presented with cleanliness.
• Fill, rotate, and maintain products and displays.
• Prepare special orders and party trays.
• Operate slicers, ovens, microwaves, and other deli equipment following procedures.
• Keep deli area clean, safe, and sanitary, including shelves and floors.
• Receive, inspect, and log shipments for accuracy, temperature, and quality.
