Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market, Inc. is seeking a Deli Clerk to assist customers, prepare fresh deli items, and maintain the display area in a fast-paced environment. You will operate slicers and other deli equipment, ensure proper packaging, and support special orders and party trays.

The role requires 18+ years old, a high school diploma or equivalent, reliable attendance, and the ability to lift up to 70 lbs and stand long hours. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is needed.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Have an outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Good communication skills and ability to take direction and work in a team.
• Able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Able to lift/carry up to 70 lbs. for up to 4 hours.
• Stand for up to 8 hours per shift.
• Perform general housekeeping in the department.
• Operate deli equipment safely.
• Adhere to safety and health regulations; obtain a Food Handlers permit.
• Work in coolers and freezers.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in choosing healthy options by preparing quick meals.
• Provide high level customer service and ensure deli items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented.
• Fill, maintain, and rotate products and displays.
• Prepare special orders and party trays.
• Operate slicers, ovens, microwaves, and other deli equipment following procedures.
• Keep deli area clean, safe, and sanitary.
• Receive, inspect, and log shipments for accuracy and quality.
