Job summary

SpartanNash in Grand Rapids, MI is hiring for a Deli Associate to work in-store, performing baking, frying and stocking duties. You will price, wrap and label deli products, rotate stock, and keep displays neat and stocked while following safety and guest experience standards.

The role supports deli operations, may assist other departments, and requires basic math, reading and comprehension skills, plus a preference for a high school diploma and retail experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (preferred).
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

• Bake and fry items according to production schedule (80% of time).
• Price, date, wrap and/or bag deli products.
• Fill, rotate, inspect and merchandise deli shelves, cases and displays.
• Notify Deli Manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
• Assist in receiving, unloading and stocking merchandise.
• Familiar with all products; know price, taste, preparation and use.
• Handle spoiled/damaged products per guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, attractive, well stocked department.
• Follow PPE, safety and food safety expectations; guest experience guidelines.
• May be assigned tasks in other departments as needed.
