Job summary

The Fresh Market is hiring a Deli Manager in Maryland to lead our deli team and deliver a world-class guest experience. You will oversee staffing, training, scheduling in Square, inventory, and production planning to support in-house smoked meats, brick oven pizza, and made-to-order items.

We seek an experienced restaurant manager with strong communication, food safety knowledge, and a passion for quality. Flexible scheduling and a comprehensive benefits package are included.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years as front of house and/or back of house restaurant manager.
• Strong communication with team and guests.
• High School Diploma required.
• Must be 18+ (19+ in some states)
• Passion for cooking delicious, healthy, safe food.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal food and health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the deli team to deliver a world-class guest experience.
• Forecast, hire, and train team members with Store Management.
• Write and manage weekly schedules in Square.
• Order ingredients, supplies, beer and wine; manage weekly inventory.
• Improve department sales and profitability while controlling shrink.
• Ensure food safety, quality, and proper production schedules.
• Maintain cleaning schedules and equipment maintenance.
• Provide onboarding and training through The Fresh Market Academy.
• Coach staff to improve operations and retention.
• Ensure compliance with safety and health policies.
