Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a Department Supervisor in Madison, WI to lead day-to-day department operations in a retail store. You will oversee staffing, training, and scheduling while ensuring inventory is accurate, fresh, and properly stored.

The role requires strong leadership, planning, and adherence to safety guidelines. You will partner with store leadership to achieve KPIs and drive continuous improvement, mentoring associates and coordinating with district teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years retail experience preferred.
• 1+ year supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and bookkeeping skills.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day department operations in a retail store.
• Order and maintain inventory, ensuring product freshness and quality.
• Review received orders for amount, quality, and weight; ensure proper storage.
• Manage a team to complete stocking, production, and related tasks.
• Develop and monitor department goals and forecasts; oversee scheduling and labor control.
• Ensure all food safety and safety guidelines are followed; enforce company policies.
• Participate in daily huddles and manager meetings; contribute to district and company goals.
