Job summary

The GIANT Company in Harrisburg is hiring for a deli department supervisor/lead role. You will enter orders, schedule work, supervise team members, stock items, check dates, and ensure pricing accuracy while delivering friendly service to customers.

Responsibilities include training staff, maintaining food safety standards, operating deli equipment, and organizing displays while supporting store operations to meet daily goals.

Qualifications

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must communicate and understand company policies and safety regulations to complete duties
• Must complete a food safety certification every 5 years
• Must meet ergonomic and physical requirements
• Must meet company performance standards
• Must be able to use or learn to use the equipment used to perform the job

Responsibilities

• Review the work schedule at the start of the shift, check equipment and supplies, comply with PPE requirements, and prepare for duties.
• Perform markdowns and track loss.
• Operate all tasks and equipment in deli, carryout, cafe, and cheese departments.
• Clean and sanitize all surfaces, tools, equipment, displays, floors, and counters.
• Make sandwiches, subs, and wraps; label and display per SOP.
• Prepare and package pizza; use turbo oven; cut and label for customers.
• Assist customers; cut meat/cheese; portion and label items.
• Prepare grab-and-go items for self-serve cases.
• Handle chicken from prep to roasting and packing; label accordingly.
• Clean roaster, dispose of used oil, and manage rendering waste.
• Prepare and wrap fried chicken; maintain oil levels and cleanliness.
• Order for smoked program from meat department; train on smoker program.
• Break down and clean equipment every 4 hours.
• Handle heavy items and lifting per safety guidelines.
• Identify and follow SOPs for Flashfood donations.
• Maintain cleanliness with wipes, brooms, hoses, mops, and sanitizers.
• Prepare and stock all products in department cases.
• Track and record loss using KLT; complete sanitation logs and production plans.
• Organize sales floor cooler and freezer; plan weekly circular ads.
