Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Deli Manager to lead the Deli team and elevate guest dining experiences with expertly prepared meats, pizzas, sandwiches, and salads. You will work with our Corporate Chef and Kitchen Director on systems, recipes, and training to elevate our quick-service restaurant concept.

This role offers opportunities to build a positive work culture, manage schedules, inventory, and food production while ensuring safety and high standards across all operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a front of house and/or back of house restaurant manager in retail, restaurant or hospitality.
• Excellent oral and written communication with team, management and guests.
• High School Diploma required; some locations require 19+ depending on state.
• Passion for cooking delicious, healthy, and safe food.
• Strong standards for food quality and customer satisfaction.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal food and health requirements.

Responsibilities

• As the leader and ambassador of our kitchen concept, create an atmosphere of excitement and inclusiveness with team members and guests.
• Forecast and maintain teams by collaborating with Store Management in sourcing, hiring and training.
• Write and manage weekly schedule for team members to ensure a superior guest experience.
• Order ingredients, supplies, beer and wine; manage weekly inventory reviews.
• Build sales and profitability; manage margins and shrink.
• Create production schedules; ensure food safety and quality policies are followed.
• Ensure cleaning schedule is followed and equipment maintained; communicate issues.
• Provide onboarding experience with Guest Services Manager and team members.
• Train team through The Fresh Market Academy and on-the-job training for guest service.
