Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Deli Manager to lead the deli team and deliver exceptional guest experiences with in-house smoked meats, brick oven pizza, and made-to-order items. You will oversee staffing, training, inventory, and production planning to ensure quality and safety across the department.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a front of house and/or back of house restaurant manager in retail, restaurant or hospitality.
• Proven oral and written communication skills with team, management and guests.
• High School Diploma.
• Must be at least 18 years old (varies by state).
• Passion for cooking delicious, healthy and safe food.
• High standards for food quality and customer satisfaction.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal food and health department requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the deli team to deliver high quality food and guest experience.
• Forecast, hire, and train staff; manage weekly schedules.
• Manage procurement and inventory for Square/Kitchen, including beer and wine.
• Improve sales and profitability while controlling margin and shrink.
• Create production schedules and ensure food safety policies are followed.
• Ensure cleaning schedules and equipment maintenance are up to standard.
• Onboard and coach team members for excellent guest service.
• Ensure safety policies and regulatory compliance are followed.
