Job summary

PCC Community Markets is seeking a Deli Helper Clerk to deliver friendly, efficient service at the Madison Valley deli in Seattle. You’ll assist with simple prep, packaging, and merchandising, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

This role supports a culture of integrity, stewardship, and community health, with opportunities to grow in a cooperative, member-owned environment. Evening/weekend shifts may be required to serve customers.

Qualifications

• Provide excellent, professional customer service.
• Available to work evenings and weekends.
• Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Previous food preparation experience preferred.
• Current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health is required.
• Be able to lift 10–40 lbs regularly.

Responsibilities

• Counter and barista service when needed during business hours.
• Dishwashing and cleaning in the deli and production areas.
• Packaging and retail merchandising.
• Ensures department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are met.
• Becomes knowledgeable about deli products, specialty foods, baked goods and prepared foods.

Deli Helper Clerks provide excellent customer service at the deli counter and other deli stations. They perform basic food prep, package deli items and clean in the deli area.

Main Job Responsibilities

• Knowledge of specialty and prepared foods preferred


• Basic math skills for measurement and scale functions


• Excellent communication skills


• Must be able to meet physical requirements of standing, twisting, bending, repetitive motion and lifting 10-40lbs regularly
