Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Delicatessen Manager in Omaha to lead one of our busiest departments. You will oversee daily operations, coach a team, and ensure exceptional customer service and freshness across deli products.

You will drive sales through promotions, manage inventory and scheduling, and maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and professionalism in a fast-paced food-service environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; one or more years of related work experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and stand/walk for long periods.
• Experience supervising and developing a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills including fractions, decimals, and percentages.

Responsibilities

• Set and uphold department standards for customer service, cleanliness, sanitation, and profitability.
• Build a friendly, welcoming atmosphere by greeting and engaging with customers.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate department employees; handle disciplinary matters as needed.
• Coordinate scheduling and daily work plans with store leadership; oversee ordering, replenishment, pricing, and invoicing.
• Analyze weekly/monthly sales trends; plan promotions and displays; manage inventory and pre-orders.
• Ensure proper product temperatures, storage, and freshness; troubleshoot equipment as needed.
