Qualifications

• Delicatessen Manager must deliver outstanding customer service and maintain a welcoming department.
• Ability to solve practical problems and make sound decisions with various variables.
• Proficient in basic math and able to perform calculations for pricing, invoicing, and promotions.
• Strong written and verbal communication with customers, employees and vendors.
• Maintain discretion with sensitive information including compensation, sales data and inventory reports.

Responsibilities

• Set and uphold department standards for service, cleanliness, sanitation, teamwork, and profitability.
• Encourage a friendly atmosphere by leading by example and engaging with customers.
• Assist customers with finding products and carrying heavy items to help ensure a great visit.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff and handle performance issues.
• Coordinate scheduling and daily work plans with store leadership to meet goals.
• Oversee ordering, replenishment, pricing, invoicing and department bookkeeping.
• Analyze sales trends, plan promotions, and create displays to drive sales.
• Ensure proper temperatures, storage procedures and freshness to minimize shrink.
