Stauffers of Kissel Hill is hiring for a full-time Team Member at our Mount Joy Fresh Foods location. Flexible day, evening and weekend availability is required to support store operations and customer service.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly exposed to cold temperatures near coolers.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with Buying and GM teams regarding merchandising, pricing, and directions.
• Develops and mentors the Assistant Department Manager to prepare them for the Department Manager role.
• Assigns duties, schedules, and vacations based on business needs and events.
• Communicates with scan department to resolve pricing issues and ensure accuracy.
• Plans merchandising with the Buying team and creates plan-o-grams.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with Buying and GM teams regarding merchandising, new product implementation and appropriate pricing. Promptly follows through with directions.
• Develops and mentors the Assistant Department Mgr to prepare them to take on the job responsibilities of Department Manager (where applicable).
• Assigns duties to team members and schedules break periods, work hours, and vacations based on the needs of the business and upcoming store events.
• Communicates regularly with scan department to resolve incorrect information and ensure correct pricing.
• Devise game plans and plan-o-grams for merchandising of the department in conjunction with the Buying team.
• Fully understands the retail label systems, communicates with Scan, General Management, and/or Buying teams to ensure correct pricing.
• Functions as a working manager, performing all department responsibilities to ensure the smooth operation of your area of responsibility.
• Has knowledge of current inventories and ordering systems to effectively oversee the ordering of departmental supplies and merchandise from approved vendors.
• Supervises and performs departmental inventories to ensure accuracy and thoroughness.
• Trains team members in store policies, department procedures, product knowledge and job duties to ensure they are working in a productive and safe manner.
